LEARNING BY DOING = IMMEDIATE IMPACT!

When familiar reference points begin to blur or decisions become difficult, the answer is not always another consulting engagement or additional training.
More often, what organisations need is the right working space at the right moment. Clarifying a challenge, aligning stakeholders, exploring new directions or unlocking a complex situation… TOMO® Action-Learning Workshops™ build directly on your real-life situations so that teams can develop their capabilities while moving into action immediately.

HOW DO TOMO® ACTION-LEARNING WORKSHOPS™ WORK?

Inspired by action-research, we develop action-learning: learning by doing, while creating real impact in the field at the same time as developing capabilities.

Each Action-Learning Workshop™ is therefore designed specifically around your context and your objectives.

It combines careful preparation, a structured workshop architecture and facilitation that encourages listening, engagement and collective responsibility.

Participants work on their own situations, experiment with new ways of thinking and acting, and leave with decisions or action plans that can be implemented immediately.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS FOR TEAMS?

Learning by doing: twice the effort? No. Twice the impact.

clarifying complex situations
aligning stakeholders around a shared direction
generating useful and actionable ideas
strengthening the ability to cooperate and make decisions together
embedding sustainable practices in everyday work

Each Action-Learning Workshop™ is designed as a structured and purposeful working session where participants learn by doing as much as they do by learning.

WHEN DO THESE MOMENTS OCCUR?

Every organisation goes through moments when its usual ways of working are no longer sufficient. TOMO® Action-Learning Workshops™ are designed to support these key situations.

> When it becomes essential to identify the “right” problem before taking action…

UNDERSTANDING THE PROBLEM

When projects move forward without a clear direction, when ideas remain self-centred or when teams do not share the same understanding of the challenges, it becomes necessary to step back. This Action-Learning Workshop™ helps participants develop a posture of strategic empathy in order to frame challenges more accurately, based on real user experiences.

By working on concrete situations, teams learn during this Action-Learning Workshop™ to:

analyse an experience journey and identify its friction points
reframe challenges based on real user experiences rather than organisational assumptions
create a shared language around priorities
build clearer briefs, enabling stronger future decisions

More than a method, it represents a shift in mindset: understand before innovating, frame before solving.

> When leading projects is no longer enough to lead a team…

ENABLING COLLABORATION

As organisations become more complex, managers and key roles must learn to facilitate collective work rather than simply “manage tasks”. This Action-Learning Workshop™ helps evolve managerial practices towards a facilitative leadership approach, enabling smoother interactions and more sustainable collaborative dynamics.

During this Action-Learning Workshop™, participants explore in particular:

• the fundamentals of facilitating collaborative workshops
tools to structure discussions and encourage participation and dialogue
reference points for supporting teams in uncertain environments
practices that strengthen engagement and trust

Objective: moving from top-down management towards a more participative and responsible form of collective leadership.

> When a complex problem resists the usual approaches…

UNBLOCKING A SITUATION

Some problems persist despite repeated efforts. They require a structured approach to clarify the underlying challenges, overcome blind spots and converge towards concrete decisions. This Action-Learning Workshop™ introduces a problem-solving approach inspired by Creative Problem Solving, adapted to professional contexts.

During this Action-Learning Workshop™, teams learn to:

analyse a complex situation from multiple perspectives
avoid false diagnoses and superficial solutions
explore new options before converging
transform collective reflection into actionable decisions

Here, solving does not mean finding an immediate answer, but building a clear path towards action.

> When creativity starts to fade and ideation needs to regain its purpose…

GENERATING NEW IDEAS

Tired of ineffective ideation sessions? This Action-Learning Workshop helps teams relearn how to brainstorm effectively by structuring creative sessions that produce concrete and usable ideas.

Through practical exercises and real-life cases, participants in this Action-Learning Workshop learn to:

prepare and frame a brainstorming session to avoid the “list of ideas” effect
re-energise collective creativity when momentum drops
• quickly select and prioritise relevant directions
• turn creative exploration into initial courses of action

The objective is not to find “the killer idea”, but to finally generate ideas that are genuinely useful.

> When it becomes necessary to step back in order to project more clearly into the future…

RADICAL INNOVATION

This Action-Learning Workshop™ in prospective storytelling is particularly relevant when organisations need to pivot their business, reposition an offer or strengthen a customer-experience culture.

Using a Design Fiction™ approach, this collaborative experience encourages participants to develop a shared critical perspective and to free themselves from the constraints and limiting beliefs often embedded in corporate culture. This practice invites teams to question their current uses, norms, ethics, values and value propositions.

Through this Action-Learning Workshop™, participants learn to:

• understand and master the foundations of storytelling
• free themselves from current corporate constraints
• expand their field of possibilities by imagining different future scenarios
• embody these scenarios through concrete prototypes simulating the envisaged uses and their potential impacts

Then, through a process of systemic reflection (transposition), participants identify practical applications within their own organisations, helping to unblock their projects and reopen new opportunities for innovation.

> When it becomes necessary to re-engage those who carry and represent your brand…

BRINGING TEAMS TOGETHER THROUGH COLLECTIVE EMERGENCE

Creating or repositioning a brand is not simply a consulting exercise: it is first and foremost a process of ownership. These workshops are therefore designed for teams who wish to (re)define together the core foundations of their brand(s), mobilising internal collective intelligence rather than outsourcing a top-down recommendation.

Through a structured series of workshops, participants work on the key elements of a brand platform: vision, purpose, promise and points of differentiation. These elements are then synthesised into a single one-page framework (one page remembered by everyone is better than a long document forgotten in a drawer). This shared foundation then enables teams to explore collaboratively potential naming options, territories of expression and initial written or visual content.

This Action-Learning Workshop™ enables teams to:

  1. clarify the identity and positioning of an existing or emerging brand

  2. align stakeholders around a shared vision

  3. bring forward clear and coherent brand choices

  4. establish solid foundations for future developments (communication, products, services)

  5. and above all foster genuine ownership of the brand by those who bring it to life

Depending on the context, this workshop can be used during phases of brand creation, repositioning or transformation, and can be adapted to the organisation’s level of maturity and its specific challenges.

Our Action-Learning Workshops™ help projects move forward while developing the people who drive them. These formats encourage wider engagement and increase the chances of success.
